Automata Nova is a project/experiment that explores the following problems:

• Games where players can extend the game without asking for permission or fragmenting their state:
  • how can you incentivise players to create game extensions? (players could charge fee for using their extension; just like marketplaces do)
  • how can the core game dev ensure that the game extensions do not “break” the game in un-intended ways? How to use economic incentives to influence and control desired limits of the permissionless game-play emergence?
  • what if we want to change some game mechanic of the core game itself?
  • how can a game client try to accommodate introduction of new game extensions? how can players contribute to the client in a permissionless way?
  • are there any clear boundaries to what extent a game should/can be extended?
• Games that aren’t broken by bot metas or by Sybil collusion.
  • Solving tragedy of the commons (shared compute/storage)
  • Dealing with MEV (sequencing the player moves using game-controlled move sequencing while keeping the game relatively fair)
• Is there a way to incorporate “incomplete information” into the on-chain game-play without any acceptable drawbacks?
• How can wealth/status generated in one game be translated to another game? How does it change individual game economies and growth of each game?
• Bonus: How to scale an on-chain game to hundreds of thousands of players while preserving the above 2 properties.
• Bonus: How you can record the game-play using on-chain state + on-chain events?
• How to make a on-chain game a break-out success?
